Kaitlyn Steinroeder is a 21-year-old filmmaker, photographer, and artist. She was born on Long Island, raised in suburban North Carolina, and obtained a BFA in Film Production from the University of Mississippi. Her unique creative approach is a balance of observation and intuition, rooted in a slow process.
Her work often explores female identity, multi-generational family relationships, nostalgia, and leisure.
Recently, she has been finding inspiration in religious iconography, the lifestyle and art of the Mediterranean region, and the simple southern warmth of North Mississippi.
She is particularly interested in fashion photography, portraiture, alternative process photography, zine making, and incorporating creative nonfiction writing into her work.
Kaitlyn prioritizes slowing down and spending time doing what feels natural. She loves cats, film festivals, vintage things, taking dérives, and spending time with those she loves.
